Yard Setup

Pathway: Setup > Operations > Yard
Yards are used for inventory management and can be assigned as the start and end locations of a route to define where the route begins and ends. Additionally, Route Optimization uses yard information to sequence stops based on where a truck will start and finish its day.
After a yard is created, it will populate as a selection option in the 'Start Yard' and 'End Yard' drop down fields located in the Route Setup screen.
Field Descriptions
| Field | Description |
Name
| Identifies the name the the yard.

Abbreviation
| Displays the abbreviated name for the yard on maps.

Address Information
| Enter the address of where the yard is located. This is required for geocoding, route optimization and affects the Geofence Radius. |
| Intercompany Revenue Segment | Text field used to enter the revenue segment that allocates revenue to the servicing depot or yard. This field is displayed only when Enable Servicing Yard Segmentation is enabled (Setup > System > System Options > Account [tab]).
Additional setup: Start and End Yard should be assigned to the route for this to work.

Geofence Radius (Meters)
| Creates a virtual perimeter around the yard to more accurately track a trucks arrival and departure. Enter (in meters) the radius that should be used. |
Average Duration (Mins)
| Enter the average amount of time a truck will spend at a yard for disposal/yard time. This is used in optimization calculations if disposal trips are tracked. |
Add a Yard
- Select the green '+' to open Add Yard Setup.
- Complete the following required fields:
- Enter a Name for the yard.
- Enter an Abbreviation for the yard.
- Enter the Geofence radius.
- Complete additional fields based on your company's setup requirements.
- Double click the Yard that was created to show the Divisions and Business Hours tabs for the yard in the grid below.
- Add the Divisions the yard is available to by selecting the green '+' icon for the division. Further details available in the Divisions section below.
- Select the Business Hours tab and add the hours the yard is open. Further details available in the Business Hours section below.
- Click Save when finished.
Tab: Divisions
Select a yard from the upper grid to add the divisions it applies to in the Divisions tab. Easily add or remove a division to a yard with the toggle button associated to the division.
Tab: Business Hours
Select a yard from the upper grid to add its hours of operation in the Business Hours tab. To add business hours, click the green '+' icon and the Add Yard Business Hours popup window will display. This tool allows for more than one set of business hours to be created for a yard. Example: Weekdays vs Weekend hours.
Add Business Hours Field Descriptions

Yard
| Displays the name of the yard business hours are being created for.

| Identifies a specific time the yard opens.

Close Time
| Identifies a specific time the yard closes.
